AI Solid Waste Detection — Intelligent Waste Recognition for Smarter Management

This project was built for city leaders and waste companies who were tired of seeing trash pile up and money being wasted. They wanted a way to manage waste that was faster, cheaper, and better for the planet. Their goal was to use smart technology to follow international rules and make sure every piece of trash ended up in the right place.

Sorting trash by hand is a slow, dirty job that costs a fortune in worker salaries and often leads to big mistakes. The company was losing a lot of money because trucks were driving to empty bins, wasting expensive fuel and time. They also faced heavy fines from the government because they weren't sorting recyclables correctly. Without a clear picture of how much waste they had, they couldn't plan their budget, and costs were spinning out of control.

We created "Smart AI Eyes" that can look at a pile of trash and instantly know what is inside- like plastic, paper, or metal. This system measures exactly how full a trash pile is, so trucks only drive when they absolutely have to, which saves a massive amount of fuel. We made the technology small and tough so it can work right on the street or on the trucks without needing fancy internet. By following the strictest international rules, we ensured the business never has to worry about legal trouble again.
